A Day is a Hundred Years
Damaged Goods / Toneelhuis / Jozef Wouters
After a year in the public space Benjamin Verdonck returns to the auditorium, where time and space are clearly demarcated. Apart from the wonderful evening ritual of a public gathering with the sole purpose of looking at theatre, the black box also concentrates the mind. It provides the sort of silence that eludes us in the public space with its disconcerting profusion of signs and signals.
CALENDAR has produced a whole arsenal of characters, props, discussions, rumours and fables. It uses these residues to tell a new story and that is just as it should be. You buy a ticket, take your seat and allow yourself to be transported to another world.
